In reply to Lazarus-uk's message of 21 Oct 2026: I'll give them a go Thanks Lazarus-uk! GTX 16 cards already work well in the beta, so yours is welcome. We'll enable your host shortly; then just allow new tasks and click Update. |

In reply to Vato's message of 21 Oct 2026: i have enabled my 3 hosts and none of them download any tasks so far Thanks Vato! Your hosts hadn't contacted the project since 12 October, so the server couldn't prepare anything for them. Now that they're back, work has started: two of them have already received their first GPU task, and the third should follow. Nothing else is needed on your side. |

In reply to FritzB's message of 21 Oct 2026: In reply to benjamin's message of 21 Oct 2026: Thanks FritzB, that's very helpful! To clarify our list: "RTX 5080, Linux" was biodoc's card; we know yours runs on Windows 11. Thanks also for the details on the laptop 1650 Ti and on host 1989: BOINC often shows two identical cards when a PC mixes models, so knowing it is really a 4070 Ti plus a 5070 Ti helps us. You're right that some of your hosts ran short of beta tasks this morning; they have been refilled since. And no, we don't detach anyone: your hosts can simply keep running Eternity, CPU or GPU, whatever suits you. |

In reply to taurec's message of 21 Oct 2026: I'll give it a try. Thanks taurec, welcome aboard! We'll enable your Linux host with the RTX 3060 Ti shortly and let you know here. When it's done, just allow new tasks and click Update in BOINC; no CUDA installation or reset is needed. |

In reply to benjamin's message of 21 Oct 2026: a few hundred tickets, plus several minutes of fixed start-up, so per hour they pay badly. We don't do this for credits. We do for honour and fame ;D |

Has my computers been authorized for GPU tasks? I too have not been getting any tasks since I requested tasks. |

In reply to Werinbert's message of 21 Oct 2026: Has my computers been authorized for GPU tasks? I too have not been getting any tasks since I requested tasks. Sorry Werinbert, your request from this morning slipped through between two of my replies. Your RTX 5060 (host 30) and RTX 4060 Ti (host 31) are now enabled for the GPU beta, and a first GPU task is already being prepared for the 4060 Ti. Just keep new tasks allowed and click Update; no CUDA installation or reset is needed. |

In reply to Hans Sveen's message of 21 Oct 2026: Hi! Thanks Hans, you're right. GPU work supply was disrupted last night and this morning, and it's been catching up since. Your 3080 Ti host (165) received two new GPU tasks this evening. Your 4080 host (166) hasn't got any yet; we're looking into it. |

Both your Fedora hosts are now enabled for the GPU beta: the GTX 1070 Ti has already received its first GPU tasks, and the RTX 5060 Ti will follow. No CUDA installation or reset is needed. In reply to mmonnin's message of 21 Oct 2026: Then GPUs are not worth running the small tasks. Power wise a CPU will be better. I am now seeing the GPU tasks grab 6 CPU cores... this is an awful lot of cpu to support a single gpu task. So I am in agreement that the gpu tasks don't seem worth running. Can you not just claim 1 core and let Boinc decide on actual need? |
