We are improving the BOINC infrastructure in two areas: continuous work supply so computers stay busy, and accurate live throughput reporting for Windows and Linux.

No work is discarded and ongoing tasks are not interrupted. We are validating each platform before publishing updates. Thank you for contributing your CPU time to the Eternity II search.

A big thank you for your encouragement. I'm still making improvements—there are a few small bugs left—but overall, it's really starting to shape up nicely.
This is my first BOINC project; I can see a great community getting involved right away, and it's really awesome.
Thanks everyone.

Yes, VERY important to many users. A look at the Steve Dodd's signature provides an example.

Badges are live. Thank you both for pushing on this - I genuinely did not
know how much they matter here, and you were right.

Two sets went in.

The standard credit badges are now being awarded: top 1%, 5% and 25% by
average credit. They were configured on the server but the task that hands
them out had never been switched on, which is why almost nobody had one.
Fifteen awarded so far, and it now runs daily.

More interesting, I think: there are now discovery badges, one per score
tier - 463, 464, 465, 466 and 467. These are awarded for actually
contributing a board at that score, not for raw credit. It fits this project
better, because a single well-placed ticket can matter more than throughput.

Twenty-eight of those went out on the first pass: seventeen of you have the
463 badge, and eleven also have 464.

Nobody has 465, 466 or 467 yet on the BOINC side. Those are still open.
The 466 is current world record territory, and 467 has never been reached by
anyone - the badge exists and is waiting.

You will see them next to your name in forum posts, and on your profile
page. They run on a schedule, so new ones appear on their own as boards come
in.

Agreed.
467 could do with some diamonds dropped on to it to improve on 466.

Per this page 470 is the record.

You're right, and thanks for catching it — my wording was wrong. Joshua Blackwood's 470 is the highest known board, but it only uses the mandatory centre piece. Our 466 is the record in the stricter category that respects all five official clue pieces, where the previous best was 465. So 467 has been reached, just not under the five-clue rules. The 467 badge here is for a five-clue 467, which nobody has found yet.
